Welcome to Etchona ("we", "our", or "us"). Etchona is a mobile application designed for CBSE Class 11 and 12 Computer Science and Informatics Practices teachers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

When you create an account on Etchona, we collect:

• Your teaching subject (Computer Science or Informatics Practices)
• Documents you choose to upload (PDFs)

We do not collect any sensitive personal information such as financial data, location, or device identifiers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your Etchona account
• Send OTP verification emails during signup
• Display your name on your dashboard
• Allow you to upload and share teaching documents
• Respond to doubts and project requests you submit

Document Uploads

Documents uploaded by teachers are stored securely on Cloudinary. Admin reviews all uploaded documents before they are made available to other users. We do not share your uploaded documents with any third parties.

Data Security

We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information:

• Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard bcrypt hashing
• All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/SSL
• Authentication is handled via secure JWT tokens
• Our backend is hosted on Render.com with secure PostgreSQL database

Third-Party Services

Etchona uses the following third-party services:

• Cloudinary – for secure PDF storage
• Resend – for sending verification emails
• Render.com – for backend hosting

Each of these services has their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.

Data Retention

We retain your account information as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at etchona.app@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

Etchona is designed for use by teachers (adults). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes via email or through the app. Continued use of Etchona after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
